She is really packing it deep here. Also once she had her babies as they grew I watched her actaully take mud out from the bottom of the nest to make room for her growing family.Jun 16, 2011

A big mouthful of mud which she kept taking from near the outside water hose that had been on that day. The earth was nice and moist there.Jun 16, 2011

This was the second day of building. The first day she brougth mud in for the first layer then just layed down a little straw and then let it dry. This way the mud is cemented to the log and will not fall off or blow off.Jun 16, 2011
