Perigee Moonset

This particular moonset is 14% brighter than other times of the year. On this cold day below zero F, the visibility was particularly good, although the refraction from the distance through the atmosphere increased as the moon got lower. This is a single exposure, obtained by waiting until the light equalized between daylight and moonset. The backgrounds sky almost didn't get bright enough because sunrise was behind heavy clouds that morning.
