What do the black circles indicate at the top/right of the desks?

The circles are ink wells. This is similiar to the schools I attended in the 1960's. Every classroom had a piano,the American flag and a picture of George Washington. Brings back lots of memories. Nice pictures.

Yep, me too Joyce!! Went to school in Mohawk, but also attended school in Centennial Heights for part of a year. Had three grades in one classroom at that school--K, 1st, 2nd in one room--3rd, 4th, 5th in another. Miss Thompson was the teacher for the 3rd-5th grades. That's where I was the day Kennedy was assassinated.
