We do not know anything more about this fire other than what the photographer noted on the photograph. If you have more information on this fire, we would appreciate you posting it in the comments here. Thanks to Doug's aunt, who is now in possession of this photo, for graciously allowing us to scan it. Thanks also to the fine folks at the Pasty Cam for giving us permission to post this.

I don't know where you are located, but if you are in Houghton you might contact Dr. Larry Lankton. He is a history prof at MTU, and teaches History of the Keweenaw Copper Country at Michigan Tech.

I imagine his books 'Cradle to the Grave' or 'Beyond the Boundaries' would have some good information for you as well. You should be able to order his books online, or contact him at his MTU office.
