I remember this well as I was the waitress for the Captain's Table on the final voyage of the SS South in 1967. We were part of the decommissioning ceremony in Montreal.

Wow, this does bring back some great memories. I was radio telephone operator in 67, and in fact my email handle was my nick name on the ship that summer.

Worked many long hours in this dining room back in 1955. Loved every minute of it. Had a tiny room in the "flicker" while the gals enjoyed the "harem" Wow, what memories !

My sister and I worked on the South in '67 also. Our parents worked on it in the early '40s. My grandfather was the captain of the South until his retirement in 1957.
