Whats that pink stuff going into the lake? looks like pollution

George, I would venture to guess it is drainage from the river...on a heavy rain or run off the ontonagon river passes by many red clay banks...depending on the wind and current the water will be turned a dull orange almost a almon pink color...so I think this is the remains of some run off from the river.

I grew up in Ontonagon, when the lake looked this, it was the best for swimming. The water was actually warm.
