If the road that goes to the right to the steam hoist is just beyond the 2 little fence posts at the left of the photo, or beyond the pine trees, there at the corner was my boyhood home in the 40s! It was a C&H "company" house that my mother, my brother and I lived in when my dad was in the service. There were these "company" houses all up and down those roads. The pine trees were not there then! Lots of memorys!

Would it have been a C&H house? This was property of the Quincy Mining Company...I think Frenchtown was ahead to the left, and Limerick was behind you. The whole ground from here to the hoist was company property.

My mistake, I've been reminded by a few folks that those were "Quincy Mining" company houses! I remember our rent was something like $7.50 per month!
