Its a shame that in 76 or 78 the quincy compresser house was torn down and the machinery removed . It would have been nice to be able to show people more of the surface plant. The railroad tracks being gone also most have no clue as to how complex this would be. But so thankful that what is left is.

What did this engine do? Did it do something for the bigger hoist engine?

The auxilary engine was used to run the oil pump, water pump, and vacuum pump for the big engine. What your seeing there is the top part of the engine; the rest of it is in the basement.
