I have admired this house for so long does anyone have any history about its past?

It's owned by a couple from downstate now, but used to be owned (I believe) by a banker. The gals in the Calumet Township office have the scoop. I, too, have always loved this house. Landscape is much better in the summer!

I've always loved this house. Back in the 70's we lived around the corner and up the street from it. I had been babysitting my brother and he told me in all seriousness the he was going to play with his friend who lived in that house. How cool I thought! Some while later I went there to go get him. Knocking on the door I was received by this little old man (I thought wow...he's a butler????) followed by a little old lady. My brother had been telling fibs..there were no kids there. But it was fun to peek in the front door just the same.

Thanks for sharing!!!

Yeah, my wife and I took the picture while on vacation there in March 2004. We felt kinda dumb moving the car back and forth to get several pictures, but we just loved the look of the place.

This house was built by Paul Roehm, who built a number of the sandstone buildings in and around Calumet. He was my husband's grandfathr (John Paul Reeder, now deceased). Check local libraries for more info. Fran Reeder

I too have a picture of this house from a trip we took in 2005. I wonder too about the history behind this beautiful home.
