The impending end to another shipping season on the lakes is near when these guys appear

I can see why. The pyramids are close to the beach this year.I don't trust the ice,no matter how thick it seems. Had too many close calls. So have you,I'm sure. It's a 'sinking' feeling,nosing around the sculptures,debating whether to inch in closer,when suddenly you hear a CRAACK. Then a long,deep groan from somewhere below. Might see some bubbles. You rush back,hoping the piece about to break off is the chunk you just ran away from and not the one you're running to.We don't know the thickness of the ice and I wouldn't want to slide into a hidden crevice.I try to keep this in mind when the temptation is too great. I also keep in mind the time you,Little Jeffery and I were crawling along the edges to see what was behind: Water! Golllleeee! That was a good trip!Let's do it again.

Yeah I too remember crawling around a time or two out there on the ice patch. Sure can be a scary feeling, I wonder what we thought we were going to see on the other side of the ice, China? Silly Yoopers.. ha! See you soon
