Ishpeming Michigan, Deer Lake Road, December 31, 1987, The "stope" at the Ropes Gold mine collasped. Photo was taken at the head frame looking towards the office and dry house. In the center of the photo you can just make out a delivery van which along with it's driver were sucked into the hole. The van is sitting on it's side just below a 40' tool trailer which was parked by the side of the road.
